THEATERAUSTAUSCH JENA-BUDAPEST

In László Krasznahorkais Roman wird mehrperspektivisch und schonungslos das Leben in Kana (Spiegelbild von Kahla in Thüringen) vor dem Hintergrund eines zunehmenden Bedrohungsgefühls beschrieben: Graffiti erscheinen auf Bach-Denkmälern, Wolfsrudel durchstreifen den Thüringer Wald, ein jüdischer Physiklehrer verschwindet plötzlich.
Der Protagonist des Buches, Florian Herscht, kämpft darum, die letzten Fäden des sozialen Lebens zusammenzuhalten. In seinem Denken vermischen sich die kleinen Ereignisse des Alltags mit metaphysischen Fragen über das Ende der Welt. Doch als die Neonazi-Gruppe der Stadt sich zunehmend radikalisiert, gerät auch Herschts Welt ins Wanken.

»Herscht 07769« ist Teil des Theateraustausches zwischen dem Theaterhaus Jena und dem Örkény Színház Budapest, deren Produktion »Sokszor nem halunk meg« am 06.03. Premiere feiert.

In László Krasznahorkai's novel, the life in Kana (a mirror image of Kahla in Thuringia) is described from multiple perspectives and in a brutal manner, against the backdrop of a growing sense of threat: Graffiti appear on Bach monuments, wolf packs roam the Thuringian Forest, and a Jewish physics teacher suddenly disappears.
The protagonist of the book, Florian Herscht, struggles to hold together the last threads of social life. In his thinking, the small events of everyday life blend with metaphysical questions about the end of the world. But as the neo-Nazi group in the city becomes increasingly radicalized, Herscht's world also begins to unravel.
