Ioanna Lioutsia
Born in 1992 in Thessaloniki. PhD in Theater Studies. She holds bachelors in Directing and Acting, as well as in History & Archeology (specializing in Art History).
She works as a director, actress, writer, and theater educator. She has collaborated with the National Theater of Greece, the Greek National Opera, the Athens and Epidaurus Festival, the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center, independent theaters in Greece, and in international productions (e.g., Bosnia and Herzegovina). Her play First we take Manhattan, then we take Berlin was shortlisted for the Berliner Festspiele Theatertreffen 2019.
She has published poetry collections, plays for children, translations of plays, and a study on sound theater. Since 2012, she has been writing regularly for print and online media on topics related to literature and theatre. Since 2013, she has also been active as a performance artist, presenting her work in Greece, the USA, Italy, Germany, winning third prize in the Performance category at the Florence Biennale in 2021.
