Claudia Kirchhof
Born in East Berlin in 1978, she spent her childhood there. Her stormy adolescent years took place in the idyllic Thuringian district of Gotha.
In 1998, she moved to Jena to study education at the Friedrich Schiller University. Her thesis on improvisational theater led her in 2002 to the youth theater club at Theaterhaus Jena, where she worked for three years as an assistant and all-round helper, bringing fun to every area.
After graduating, she took her first freelance steps in youth education and experiential pedagogy, discovering a love for canoeing and cooperative games. At the request of the artistic management of Theaterhaus Jena, she developed a theater-pedagogical concept for kindergartens and elementary schools and has been leading this area since 2005. Over the years, her responsibilities expanded, so that she now also directs productions and occasionally performs on stage herself in smaller projects.
In addition to her work at Theaterhaus Jena, she also teaches acting courses at the Jena Music and Art School, conducts workshops in schools, and provides professional development for adults. As a result, she can be found on juries at regional school theater festivals, leading team trainings with educators, and teaching future teachers in drama and performing arts. She particularly enjoys her job because it is so varied and she never gets bored.
