Nadja Puttner/UNICORN ART

Two women, one in the past, one in the present. Their bodies serve as sarcophagi for long-forgotten memories. The outer shell is petrified, while inside, emotions simmer like lava, pressing to the surface.

Herta, born in 1926 in Carinthia, experiences war, resistance, and early responsibility. Decades later, her Alzheimer’s disease unearths buried memories of war and imprisonment. And Herta’s granddaughter, Moira, must confront the family’s unresolved traumas—painful as it may be.

Layer by layer, the petrification dissolves, and the lava finds its way outward.

A dance-theater piece exploring memory, trauma, and identity. Body-, movement-, and text-based. Serious, but not deadly serious. Actually, also meant to make you laugh—again and again, at least occasionally.
