Beef

Andrey Kaydanovskiy

Beef” means, in hip-hop slang, an aggressive verbal confrontation between two rappers, carried out publicly through the media — but most of all, through their lyrics.
A beef is a desire for attention.
It is a game of emotions that, once you leave the playground, has no aftermath.
A perfect study of where conflict can lead us.
A duel without a final shot.

The starting point is the story of Cain and Abel.
The jealousy of one brother means the death of the other.
How can this biblical drama of envy be projected into the present day?
How could it have been prevented?

The dance concert “Beef” places the story of Cain and Abel in a contemporary context and, through the initial setting of a live concert, focuses on the music — which, alongside the language of dance, becomes a means of expression.
