Tecklenburger Weg, 33442 Herzebrock – Clarholz

by Josef Bäcker

“There is dust on the country road, Sancho.” This sentence and the crossroads where the world-famous knight and his squire stand mark the beginning of a new story. In this one, the crossroads is in East Westphalia, and the dust is neither fairy dust nor any kind of residue from humans, animals, or plants, but a symbol. Because when the dust is wiped away, something new can emerge – or something old can appear in a new light. Thus, the Tecklenburger Weg is not only a search for traces of the past, but also an attempt to free ourselves from them with the help of Miguel de Cervantes’ world-famous characters.
