Sogno Numero Sette
by Guido Wertheimer & Colectivo Faramushi
A road trip through real and imagined landscapes: melting glaciers, the Amazon, Mediterranean islands, abandoned villages. Spaces in a state of transformation that also serve as surfaces for projection. Places that exist not only geographically, but also in thought and language – as zones in which a different relationship to the world can be imagined.
The commissioned work by award-winning author Guido Wertheimer is inspired by De Rerum Natura by the Roman poet and philosopher Lucretius – a poetic-philosophical attempt to order and make sense of the world through language. From this starting point, the text unfolds by reconsidering the question of possible places. The stage becomes a space for another form of presence – a presence that does not merely describe what is, but opens up possibilities and makes visible what could be.
Colectivo Faramushi is a transdisciplinary collective working across live and dead arts, based between Berlin, Buenos Aires, and Tehran. Formed by artists Ana Iramain, Gustavo Obligado, Shahrzad Rahmani and Guido Wertheimer, the group has developed a collaborative practice that explores dreamscapes, violence, and utopian imaginaries through an expanded understanding of theatre.
Their work brings together speculative cartographies, archival practices, mythologies from different traditions, travel diaries, interspecies relations, and a range of disciplines, including analog video art, broken architectures, fragmented dramaturgies and cosmic soundscapes. Faramushi (a Persian word meaning “forgetting” or “amnesia”) creates poetic and political constellations that inhabit the threshold between memory and disappearance, in an ongoing attempt to collectively imagine the image of a lost world that we are always on the verge of finding.
