Die kleinen Spitzen des Glücklichseins

A Show

While I lovingly kiss your nipple, it overwhelms me. Fuck, I think. I want this armchair.

Between flat-share sofas and IKEA outings, between bodies and capital — Thomas Schmale and Lenni Hofer present “The Little Spikes of Happiness – A Show”, a piece about intimacy, desire, and the ambivalence of modern profeminism.

In a blend of theatre, performance, and show, Schmale and Hofer explore what happens when love collides with consumer culture. Hovering between tenderness and cynicism, they create a show that dares to press into open wounds — charming, painful, and campy.

Thomas Schmale and Lenni Hofer spent over a year as assistants at Theaterhaus Jena. In their first own production, documentary fragments intertwine with personal experience and fiction. The production raises questions without offering easy answers: How honest is our talk about closeness, power, and emancipation? And to what extent are even our feelings permeated by capitalism?

With clear-eyed focus, humor, and a great appetite for exaggeration, Schmale and Hofer celebrate the little spikes of happiness — those subtle pricks that appear whenever we allow closeness.
