Der Mann, der alles weiß
von Jetse Batelaan // Deutsch von Andrea Theresia Prins
Is it possible to know everything? The man who knows everything certainly believes he can.
Two actors and a musician set out in search of all the knowledge that exists. Along the way, however, they realize that there are infinitely many answers to infinitely many questions—especially when the audience joins in. Knowing everything is far more difficult than one might imagine.
With The Man Who Knows Everything, Jetse Batelaan—now awarded the Silver Lion at the Venice Theatre Biennale—returns to Theaterhaus Jena following The Performance in Which Hopefully Nothing Happens. The piece is an ode to the realization that, in fact, we can know very little, and a playful journey through the encyclopedic expectations of an audience from 4 years old and up.
