Pre-sale start for the summer spectacle
Kassandra: coming of age at the end of the world
Advance ticket sales for this year’s summer spectacle, marking the opening of the Kulturarena, have begun!
Directed by Azeret Koua (part of the artistic leadership team), we will journey into the world of Greek mythology from July 8 to 12, 2026, on the forecourt of Theaterhaus Jena with “Kassandra: coming of age at the end of the world.”
At the center is the myth of Cassandra—the seer to whom the god Apollo granted the gift of prophecy, while simultaneously cursing her so that no one would believe her true predictions. Building on this tragic premise, the summer spectacle explores the feeling of growing up in a world whose potential catastrophes one already believes to recognize—yet still meets only deaf ears.
Despite its serious theme, the piece is not conceived as a purely bleak vision of the future. On the contrary, a citizens’ chorus, a live band, and performers from the Jena-based circus MoMoLo bring lightness, movement, and surprising moments to the stage, creating a multi-layered evening that moves between myth, the present, and poetic utopia.
Advance ticket sales have started immediately. Tickets are available via the Jena Tourist Information at a price of €20 (€12 reduced).
Remaining tickets will be available at the box office for €25 (€15 reduced).
