A room poem to listen to!

The Theatre House co-founder Andrea Hesse gave extensive personal interviews in spring 2025, shortly before her professional departure, sharing insights into her experiences and stories as a long-time member of the institution. In doing so, she also spoke about the magic of this special stage.

Angela Hausheer and Rainer Frank, who know the Theatre House from their time as members of the founding ensemble, distilled the recorded conversations into an audio piece. Forty years of theatre history and stories are told from the perspective of a protagonist who never wanted to be in the spotlight and who, for generations of Theatre House staff, was an empathetic ambassador of the institution. The acoustic spatial poem spans the period from the pre-unification years of the mid-1980s, through the founding of the Theatre House, up to the present day. Musician Leo Bachmann created the musical composition for it using sounds from the Swiss KONTRA Trio.
